This 4-piece Kwaito-Rap capsule serves as the official introduction to the sound and identity of 6ixty Jonas & DJ2wnty. The project explores different moods and experiences of township life, blending energetic grooves, street culture, and authentic storytelling.Designed as both an introduction and a statement of intent, the EP showcases the artists' ability to merge traditional Kwaito influences with a modern approach, creating music that feels both familiar and forward-thinking.
Family, Music & Heritage
A strong example of this approach can be heard on “7 O’Clock eZola,” a track that pays homage to Kwaito legend Zola 7 and his iconic song “Ghetto Fabulous.” While celebrating the influence of one of South Africa’s most respected artists, the song also tells a personal story, highlighting the long-standing connection between 6ixty Jonas and DJ2wnty. Their relationship goes back generations, as 6ixty Jonas’ father and DJ2wnty’s uncle were friends long before either artist was born, making the collaboration a reflection of both musical heritage and family history.
